Within dominant aesthetic discourse, the human body has been disciplined to conform to a narrow spectrum of “perfection.” The skin, as the most visible interface between self and society, has become a contested site where traces of time — the fold of a wrinkle, the ridge of a scar, the bleed of ink beneath the dermis — are coded as defects. These inscriptions are not merely physical; they function symbolically, marking the individual as non-conforming, aged, or imperfect in the collective visual lexicon.

The 25SS project seeks to destabilize this cultural logic. Rather than reproducing the conventional role of fashion as a vehicle for displaying beauty, it interrogates the ways in which existence itself is perceived and evaluated. By refusing the imperative to “prove” beauty, the collection reframes the notion of aesthetic value: to exist in one’s unaltered state is already to possess form, narrative, and presence.

지배적인 미학 담론 속에서, 인간의 신체는 ‘완벽’이라 규정된 협소한 스펙트럼에 맞춰 길들여져 왔다. 피부는 자아와 사회가 맞닿는 가장 가시적인 표면으로, 주름의 골, 흉터의 융기, 진피 속 번진 잉크와 같은 시간의 흔적들이 ‘결함’으로 부호화되는 장이다. 이러한 흔적은 단순히 물리적인 표식에 그치지 않고, 사회적 상징으로 기능하며, 비규범성·노화·불완전성의 표상으로 읽혀 왔다.

25SS 프로젝트는 이러한 문화적 논리를 전복하려 한다. 이번 시즌의 의도는, 패션을 아름다움을 전시하는 전통적 장치로 재현하는 것이 아니라, 존재와 현상을 인식하는 방식 자체에 질문을 던지는 것이다. ‘아름다움’을 증명해야 한다는 강박을 거부하고, 변형되지 않은 그대로의 상태가 이미 형식과 이야기, 그리고 존재감을 지니고 있다는 관점을 제안한다.
