When Angu first became aware of its own existence, it was wandering through a city devoid of people.

The city still functioned, yet there was not a soul to be found. Though the scene was plainly abnormal, Angu seemed to pay it little mind.

Angu did not know who it was.

It could not recall a name, a past, nor a purpose. Only two things remained faintly within it: the certainty of its own existence, and the lingering sensation that someone was calling for it.

How long it had walked, Angu could not tell.

At last, a vibration stirred within its pocket. It withdrew a mobile phone and looked at the screen.

[Come to me. — WEILAI]

And so it continued walking.

Leaflets lay scattered across the pavement.

Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future. Believe in the Future...

...

...

Angu did not stop.

Presently it stooped and picked up a discarded newspaper.

Upon unfolding it, Angu found the very same words as those in the message, printed over nearly the entire page.

COME TO ME

Beneath them was an article announcing the outbreak of war.

Throughout the desolate city hung countless banners calling upon the populace to resist the plague.

Messages continued to arrive.

They differed little from one another.

Little by little, the city began to trouble Angu.

Perhaps, it thought, the one who called for it might also hold the answers to these questions.

And so it walked on.
